Join us on a wonderful journey to discover the fascinating story and rich heritage of Singapore’s Jewish community. Our tour brings you through some iconic Jewish buildings including at least one of our two synagogues and sites with Jewish connections.
During this tour, you will gain insights into this close-knit community, and learn about the heartwarming and heartbreaking tales of the local Jewry. Learn about several colourful and prominent Jewish figures from Singapore’s early days and their contributions to Singapore’s development.
Tour highlights include the Mahalah, Singapore’s old Jewish quarter with its iconic buildings; the oldest synagogue in South East Asia, the Maghain Aboth in Waterloo Street, and the adjacent Jacob Ballas memorial hall; and the beautifully restored and sumptuous Chesed-El synagogue.

With the Covid Pandemic travel constraints the wanderlust in me especially for history n culture, is looking at rediscovering Singapore.
I was recommended Jane’s SG Tours to satisfy the craving..my first ‘trip’ with it- rediscovering the Jewish Trail in Singapore was super satisfying – the planning; narration and visits to “sacred” enclaves left me craving for more.
I’m now a (Rediscover) “Singapore Girl” – thanks to Jane’s SG Tours – its are a great way to ‘walk around Singapore’
The Jewish tour was really intriguing and engaging, not to mention that our tour guide was absolutely lovely and made sure we were taken care of all along the way.
Very informative and fun tour!
We have done many private tours in various countries and I can honestly say that Jane’s SG Tours gave us some of our best experiences ever! We were lucky enough to have Betty lead us on a beautifully constructed tour examining the Jewish side of Singapore. Her content was well researched and the style of delivery was totally engaging and kept me, my wife and my sons (two young adults) interested throughout the whole time. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour to any other travellers.
Nothing beats getting up close and personal with the sights and flavours of Joo Chiat, one of Singapore’s most eclectic and interesting neighbourhoods. Come along to discover the many treasures that capture the colourful and magical charm of the area.
