Born and raised in Yokohama, Japan, Megumi nonetheless has a strong connection to Singapore, which she now regards as her home.

Several events have had a big impact on her desire to tell Singapore’s story, the most significant of which was joining the Singapore Armed Forces Volunteer Corps in 2015.

She describes the military training she went through as a completely different, indeed a life changing, experience. To this day she continues to volunteer in the Singapore Armed Forces & has even participated in our National Day Parade, a source of great pride to her.

These experiences fuelled yet further her passion for her adopted home, leading her to become a licenced tour guide, and thus an ambassador, for our small but fascinating island.

When she’s not guiding she loves travelling, visiting temples, (particularly Hindu temples), exploring local food, and enjoying all the many things that Singapore has to offer.
