Majulah Singapura
Majulah Singapura: The Untold Story of a Nation’s Motto
Many assume “Majulah Singapura” was created at independence. This walk challenges that idea and traces its roots further back than most imagine. We follow clues in places linked to civic life and structures, and uncover an old symbol of Singapore hidden in plain sight on building facades. That symbol holds the key to the motto’s origins and shows how words and images travelled through the city before they became the motto we know so well.
