AHA Walk in Chinatown - 15 June
Price : S$70 / ticket
This instalment of our Architecture, Heritage and Art (AHA) series brings us to Chinatown — home to diverse cultures and interesting living spaces!
We begin our walk in Everton Park to spot artist Yip Yew Chong's captivating murals of nostalgic characters from early Singapore alongside a mix of old and modern architecture — colourful shophouses and soaring skyscrapers.
What better way to delve into the topic of urban planning than to ascend to the top of the iconic Pinnacle@Duxton, the world's tallest public housing building. Admire the magnificent skyline and discover what it takes to make Singapore a progressive and liveable city.
A social pillar of support for many Chinese immigrants, we'll also find our how clan associations cultivated a community of kindred spirits through their dedicated welfare initiatives.
Then, we'll immerse ourselves in the architectural splendour of the Buddha Tooth Relic temple and nearby places of worship, before strolling around the neighbourhood's lively marketplace where locals mingle and bargains abound.
Come explore Chinatown's storied past and present in this AHA tour!
