A tour of seaside Changi Village "kills two birds with one stone" — history and nature. We'll meet at Changi Point Ferry Terminal's Pulau Ubin jetty to begin a multi-faceted ramble. We start with a stroll along the Changi boardwalk passing through its various sections, from Creek Walk, to Sailing Point Walk and Sunset Walk.
Look for flora and fauna ranging from terns and hornbills, and if we're lucky, to swallows, sunskinks, and changeable lizards.
Our guide will point out plants like simpoh ayer, sea lettuce, sea almond, and old trees including the rare meranti trees of the primary rainforest. Having enjoyed the beautiful white sandy beach, we then walk back along the main road to view the colonial houses that have since been converted into holiday chalets, F & B Outlets, and even hotels.
We'll end the morning at Charlie's Corner or one of the coffees shops or the food centre with its famous nasi lemak.
Please note you have a choice of meeting us at Dempsey at 8am to drive to Changi Village, or to meet us there at 9:00am; tickets are priced for these two options accordingly. The relevant directions will be sent to you a few days before the walk.
