A Walk Around Emerald Hill
Come & discover the history & stories behind one of Singapore's most beautiful enclaves. Situated a stone's throw from Orchard Road, it's a little oasis of tranquility!
We will take a walk around its streets & visit 2 or 3 homes which will illustrate the way in which some of these lovely old "shophouses", which are mostly around 100 years old, have been adapted to a greater or lesser extent for modern living.
Discover the history of this area as a nutmeg plantation, see where the old railway track ran, discover a little jewel of a Chinese temple, & hear many stories about this fantastic conservation area.
Refreshments are included in the tour.
Tours are usually in the morning (8:45am-12:30pm) and we meet in Emerald Hill itself, either at the Cuppage Guan Yin temple or at the STB office at the corner of Orchard Rd and Emerald Hill Rd. Full details will be sent to those who register through our Peatix link.
