Art & Design
A proliferation of visual arts has appeared in the last few years, with everything from vibrant street art to our prestigious National Gallery playing a role. Singaporean designers are also making their mark on the international stage.
Art & Neighbourhood Walk: Neal & Blair Road Conservation Areas
This beautiful neighbourhood which dates from the late 19th century and was previously the home of rich merchants, is now a hub of creative energy. We’ll join street artist Yip to view some of his wonderfully nostalgic murals, & end at a new exhibition by a US based Singaporean artist in an upmarket art gallery.
Wessex Art Enclave Walk & Workshop
A walk around this lovely, bucolic Black & White estate to explore its background & history will be followed by two separate hands-on workshops on clay modelling and painting with local artists.
From Jurong’s famous Dragon kiln, to the Ang Mo Kio heartland’s makers of giant joss incense & giant paper houses, to the family bakeries of Balestier, Singapore still has a number of skiled artesans.
